With the suspension of major leagues across Europe due to the coronavirus pandemic, leaving football junkies like myself with the need to depend on movies for daily entertainment.
We cast our minds back on the suspended 2019/2020 season as Football Castle presents our Premier League games of the season so far.

Southampton 0-9 Leicester. 25 October 2019
Leicester ran through the shell-shocked Saints with lethal execution. Brendan Rodgers’ men were 3-nil up inside 20 minutes and completed their whitewash in the second period with hat tricks from Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Pérez. Leicester proved they would be serious contenders this season, showing a lethal side spear-headed by current top goalscorer, Jamie Vardy.

Liverpool 3-1 Manchester City. 10 November 2019
The first Premier League classic between the title favourites at Anfield lived up to its billing. There was breathtaking attacking football on show for the 90 minutes, with Liverpool’s switching of play too much for Pep’s men to handle. Guardiola credited their performance against “the strongest team in Europe” , rightly so, having gone nine points behind the reds. Albiet that ended with huge VAR talking points.

Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea. 22 December 2019
Frank Lampard’s biggest test of the season against Chelsea’s hated rivals for a shootout for fourth spot at Christmas was made harder by the presence of ex-boss José Mourinho in the opposition dugout. What followed was a tactical masterclass as the Blues reverted to a 3-4-3 shape that stifled and overwhelmed Spurs, with Willian netting a brace and Heung-Min Son seeing red. A big feather in Lampard’s managerial cap.

Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal.  21 January 2020
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal revolution was well underway. After the adrenaline shot of a 2-nil win over Man United, the Gunners rocked up to Stamford Bridge and twice held Chelsea with a man down for 64 minutes. Gabriel Martinelli well and truly announced himself to the world with a fantastic 67-yard run and goal, his 10th goal of the season, before Héctor Bellerín’s late equalizer sparked the gunners faithful into delirium.

Alisson performed a brilliant knee slide infront of the kop.

Liverpool 2-0 Man Utd. 19 January 2020
A Premier League classic awaited England’s most successful clubs as unstoppable Liverpool faced the only opponents whom they had yet to defeat in the league this season, Manchester United.
Virgil van Dijk’s towering header set the Reds on their way before Salah’s late counter-attack goal, set up by Alisson, sealed the three points. Salah’s first career goal against United sparked jubilant scenes in front of the Kop end, with the goalkeeper running the length of the pitch to celebrate with Salah.
Relegation-battling Watford broke Liverpool’s unbeaten streak.
Watford 3-0 Liverpool. 29 February 2020
Liverpool’s Champions League Round of 16 first leg defeat to Atlético Madrid had set tongues wagging in England. As West Ham made an ultimately fruitless attempt to halt Klopp’s men, Watford stunned the Champions-elect at Vicarage road. Troy Deeney and Ismaïla Sarr turned the screw on Liverpool in the second half as they stopped their unbeaten Premier League run at 44 games.
