Following on from his man-of-the-match performance against Manchester United last weekend, Jordan Henderson was once again inspirational in Liverpool’s hard-fought win over Wolves.
In what was their 22nd win from 23 games, their unbeaten league run now stands at 40 games.
Henderson opened the scoring from a seventh-minute corner assisted by Trent Alexander-Arnold (Fantasy Premier League delight😉). However, Jürgen Klopp’s men lost African Player of TheYear, Sadio Mané to injury and conceded a second-half equalizer.

Facing intense pressure from a buoyant Wolves at home, Liverpool’s attacking threat from fullback positions was clipped by Wolves’ wingbacks; but captain fantastic provided inspiration from midfield, also assisting Roberto Firmino’s late winner.
Joining Liverpool in 2011, he struggled for years, sometimes playing on the right flank but has become one of the most effective midfielders in Europe.
England’s 2019 Player of The Year has been somewhat invincible this season with ridiculous efficiency. Klopp’s on-pitch lieutenant has popped up with attacking contributions when Liverpool have needed it the most.
He has scored more than once for Liverpool in all competitions for the first time in four seasons; and five of his last six goals have come away from home.

With his effective tackling, energetic pressing and superb distribution of the ball dictating the tempo of Liverpool’s play.
Simply put, Liverpool’s captain has been fundamental in directing their high-intensity game, where every opponent has tried -and so far failed- to halt this winning machine.
Henderson marshalled the middle of the park during Fabinho’s six weeks injury lay-off, leading the Reds to seven consecutive clean sheets (725 minutes) until Raúl Jimenéz equalized at Molineux.
Henderson is providing as much inspiration as Steven Gerrard, having also led Liverpool to a Champions League and Super Cup win in 2019.
His durability is coming to the fore for the player with the most Premier League minutes last decade. Only just 29 and at the peak of his career, it’s amazing to think how far he can yet lead Liverpool.
For now, meanwhile, Henderson is fully focused on dragging Liverpool to a record-breaking League title triumph
