Bruno Fernandes(£11.4m) owners finally got reward for their patience with 17 points in the 9-0 thriller against Southampton after four blanks in five games. This week’s big game is no doubt the Titanic clash between Liverpool and Manchester City and a lot of planning will be required to navigate the big game as well as the upcoming double game week 24 and 25.

Ahead of the game week 23 deadline on Saturday, 6th February at 11:00 AM (GMT), Football Castle provides the best picks and differentials for GW23.

Goalkeeper

Robert Sanchez(£4.4m) will look to continue Brighton’s run of four consecutive clean sheets, including against Tottenham and Liverpool, as the in-form Seagulls face Burnley who are the league’s lowest scorers.

Edouard Mendy(£5.1m) is in better form in Thomas Tuchel’s first three games with three consecutive clean sheets. The Senegalese has faced only two shots in that time and comes up against Sheffield United who are the second-lowest goalscorers with 14.

Defenders

James Justin(£5.1m) has played every minute for Leicester this season, scoring twice and keeping eight clean sheets. After a big 15-points haul in game week 22, it is the perfect time to bring Justin in if he already isn’t in your squad.

Marcos Alonso(£5.6m) has already registered 20 points in two games since an 18-game absence from the Chelsea team. The defensive solidity combined with Alonso’s attacking potentials make him a strong pick, as Chelsea will look to continue their good form under Thomas Tuchel with good upcoming games.

Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw(£4.9m) has created the most chances of any defender and got a rest (after seven points) in the second half of the Southampton thrashing. Shaw has massively improved and must be brought in before his price further rises.

On the other side, Lucas Digne(£6.1m) assisted Gylfi Sigurðsson’s opener against Leeds and matches up against Man United in what promises an exciting showcase of left-backs.

Joao Cancelo(£6.0m) is Man City’s most fashionable defender due to his defensive and attacking returns. Although he is at the risk of Guardiola’s famous rotation, Cancelo has created 30 chances this season and the best tactic is to have a good defender ready to replace Cancelo from the bench. His 13 bonus points this season are simply difficult to overlook.

Midfielders

İlkay Gündoğan(£5.9m) has now scored at least eight points in six of the last nine game weeks. The German is City’s biggest FPL asset right now and penalty duties make him a sure pick for Liverpool.

James Maddison(£7.3m) has registered four goals and four assists in seven games in 2021. The creator of both Leicester City goals in GW 22 looks set to continue his good form against Wolves.

Strikers

Ollie Watkins(£6.3m) will be buzzing to face Arsenal’s depleted backline who received two red cards last time out. The Striker is in good form with six-point returns in three of the last four GWs setting him up for a big haul in the coming weeks.

Michail Antonio(£6.7m) faces Fulham and Sheffield next and would look to continue his good form of two goals and three assists in the last four Gameweeks. He averages more shots on target (1.53) than any of his West Ham team-mates and It is also noteworthy that he assisted Jesse Lingard’s(£6.0m) debut brace and both men’s attacking fluidity can come to the fore for David Moyes’ men.

Patrick Bamford(£6.6m) is back in form after three successive blanks. He has delivered 20 points in the last two game weeks and is set to face Crystal Palace next having scored against the Eagles in the first game.

Bamford has 124 FPL points so far and is a sensibly-priced asset. Alongside him, Raphinha(£5.3m) is also flourishing in an attacking Leeds team and is a good differential with three consecutive returns.
