The final international break of the 2022-23 season is over and Fantasy Premier League managers will be looking to get back on track after a quiet blank game week last time out.
Indeed, 12 teams have double game weeks this weekend with players from Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, Chelsea, Leeds United, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United all posing possible huge returns. Hence, you should focus on these teams which will present lots of options for big hauls.
The FootballCastle will go through the smartest acquisitions for a huge game week, ahead of the deadline on Saturday 1 April at 11:00 BST.
Goalkeepers
Neto (£4.5m)
The Bournemouth man is in a mere 0.4 per cent of squads ahead of home games against Fulham and Brighton as the Cherries’ top FPL asset with 25 points over the last five matches.
The Brazilian delivered ten points in each of his last two shutouts while three of his four clean sheets have come at home this term. Neto’s clean sheets potential and save points can help him to double figures across DGW29.
Jason Steele (£3.9m)
The shot-stopper has two clean sheets and 17 points in the three games he’s started, yet he is only in 1.8% of teams despite now being Brighton’s first-choice ‘keeper.
Steele faces Brentford and Bournemouth in DGW29 with a strong potential for returns in both games.
Defenders
Kieran Trippier (£6.1m)
Trippier always offers many routes to returns with a goal, six assists, 14 clean sheets and 31 bonus points as he is at the top of the defender standings in FPL.
The Newcastle man is well on course to add to those points against Man Utd and West Ham in DGW29.
Luke Shaw (£5.2m)
The Man Utd man has hauled the most FPL points in his position since the World Cup (64) and he offers strong all-round potential for DGW29 thus he’s the most-bought defender.
Although a clean sheet is not guaranteed in tough fixtures against Newcastle and Brentford, Shaw is likely to haul attacking points.
Ben Chilwell (£6.0m)
Chilwell has 19 points over his last three GWs after one goal, an assist and a clean sheet in that period. Furthermore, consecutive home fixtures against Aston Villa and Liverpool give the left-back the chance to continue his current run of FPL points.
The Chelsea man is becoming an attacking weapon down the left flank and he is on corner-taking duties. A sure starter can haul big points regardless of the opposition.
Midfielders
James Maddison (£8.2m)
The Leicester talisman has a pair of good fixtures this week after nine goals, six assists and four clean sheets this season.
Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are both defensively poor and Maddison will be looking to create for the Foxes who should score in both games.
Harvey Barnes (£6.7m)
The Englishman offers a double-up in the Leicester midfield having equalled his best goals return in a season (nine goals).
Barnes scored at Brentford last time out and he can maintain his scoring run in favourable DGW29 fixtures.
Alexis Mac Allister (£5.5m)
The World Cup winner has seen a huge upturn since switching to a number 10 role, registering two goals, an assist and two clean sheets in his last three games.
Brighton have been one of the best attacking teams in the league and have good fixtures in DGW29 against Brentford and Bournemouth (who have the league’s worst defence with 54 goals conceded).
Mac Allister is a nailed-on starter and the team’s penalty taker, raising his goal and assist prospects in the coming games.
Jack Harrison (£5.7m)
Harrison has been revived since Javi Gracia became Leeds United’s head coach as the winger has two goals, two assists and a clean sheet in four matches.
With five bonus points to total 28 in that period, the Englishman is a differential choice right now in only 2.4 percent of FPL squads. DGW fixtures against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest adds to his appeal as Leeds are also one of only nine sides scheduled to play five matches over the next four game weeks.
Kaoru Mitoma (£5.5m)
Another Brighton asset can produce huge returns in DGW 29 after getting a good rest since scoring for Japan on Tuesday.
Mitoma has a goal, three assists and two clean sheets in three consecutive games and he could continue that sparkling run against Brentford and Bournemouth.
Marcus Rashford (£7.3m)
Rashford has netted 14 goals and four assists, amounting to 44% of Man Utd’s league goals as they face a decent double against Newcastle and Brentford.
Both DGW opponents have only one clean sheet between them in their last six games and the United talisman will play and no doubt be involved in any goals scored this week.
Forwards
Alexander Isak (£6.7m)
The Swede has scored three of Newcastle’s last four goals having been relied upon during Callum Wilson’s poor form in recent weeks.
Man United and West Ham await in GW29, and after 20 points over the last two GWs, Isak is on penalty-taking duties and represents an exciting prospect this weekend.
Ollie Watkins (£7.5m)
Watkins is in prolific form and visits Chelsea and Leicester after scoring in each of his last four away games. The striker has totalled 29 points during that run and can add some more in DGW29.
