Well, that was quite the struggle, Gameweek 11 will go down as one of the lowest-scoring weeks ever as an alarming number of popular players blanked in what was a quiet matchweek overall. Perhaps, it will best be remembered for the soap opera featuring VAR in Tottenham’s epic London Derby defeat at home to Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Fantasy Premier League defensive favourites like Dan Burn, John Stones or Spurs pair Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are set to be unavailable for varying amounts of time due to injury or suspension.
This makes the squad selection for Gameweek 12 ever more important as managers scramble to win back points that so deserted the majority last week. Hence, the FootballCastle provides all the necessary tips to consider as well as differential picks who might possess alternative routes to returns.
Remember that these changes must be made before the deadline at 11:00 GMT on Saturday, 11 November.
Goalkeepers
David Raya (£4.8m)
Raya has kept clean sheets in three consecutive home games in all competitions and faces Burnley who have only scored twice in their last five matches in all competitions.
Vincent Kompany’s side have struggled against much better sides in the top-flight and not many challenges will be tougher this season than Arsenal away.
Sam Johnstone (£4.6m)
After three successive shutouts were followed by back-to-back blanks, Johnstone returned a healthy nine points against Burnley last time out.
Notably, Crystal Palace are up against Everton, Luton Town and Bournemouth in three of their next four GWs, giving their keeper a good chance at another run of points.
Defenders
Kieran Trippier (£7.0m)
The highest-ranked defender in FPL is averaging nine points per match in his last seven outings as he combines potential for assists and goals with clean sheets and bonus points.
Trippier’s supremacy at set-pieces will raise his appeal in GW12 against Bournemouth who have conceded the most shots from dead ball situations.
Lucas Digne (£4.7m)
Digne boasts huge appeal at both ends of the pitch against Fulham who are winless in the last three matches. The Frenchman is Aston Villa’s biggest creative outlet this season with 22 key passes and he already has three assists and two clean sheets from 11 games.
GW12 opponents Fulham have struggled for goals recently which also bodes well for Digne.
Konstantinos Tsimikas (£4.6m)
Featuring in our selection for back-to-back GWs is Liverpool’s left-back who has registered a clean sheet in both of his starts. Tsimikas is also on set-piece duty and a home fixture against Brentford should see a decent return for the Greek defender.
Midfielders
Son Heung-min (£9.7m)
The in-form Tottenham captain has been amongst the points recently since his switch to the central striking role and he can continue that run having recorded 52 FPL points away from home.
Spurs travel to Wolves who have a single clean sheet all season and Son will fancy his chances of finding the net.
Anthony Gordon (£5.7m)
The Newcastle man’s FPL prospects have been boosted by the opportunity to play up front in place of Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak. Gordon has already surpassed his best tally over an entire Premier League season and he promises fantastic differential value in GW12 against the second-worst defence in the league.
Eberechi Eze (£6.1m)
The Crystal Palace man started the season as one of the most popular assets but he came off the bench to record an assist on his return from injury in GW11.
Eze’s price and ownership have dropped and he can now offer value to his 3.3 per cent owners in games against Everton, Luton, West Ham and Bournemouth over their next four GWs.
Simon Adingra (£5.0m)
The Ivorian has impressed in the recent absence of Solly March by contributing four direct goal involvements in the last six matches in all competitions. Adingra has started each of the last four Gameweeks and can produce further returns at home to Sheffield United who have the leakiest defence so far this season.
Moussa Diaby (£6.8m)
Diaby has one goal and four assists in five home outings after recording 13 points against Luton Town last time out at Villa Park.
The Frenchman hence boasts strong appeal against an out-of-form Fulham.
Mohamed Salah (£12.9m)
Salah has 47 FPL points at Anfield this season having scored in every single home game so far. He also boasts a very good record against GW12 visitors Brentford with two goals in three appearances.
A strong captaincy candidate this week.
Jarrod Bowen (£7.5m)
The West Ham United forward has seven goals and an assist in 11 games as he continues to show his suitability as a strong FPL asset.
Bowen is yet to blank in consecutive Gameweeks which raises his appeal in a brilliant upcoming schedule that includes Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Crystal Palace.
Forwards
Evan Ferguson (£6.0m)
The striker is likely to return against Sheffield United who have conceded at least two goals in each of their travels this season. After netting in Brighton’s last home match against Fulham, Ferguson is due another big haul against the Blades.
