With just two Fantasy Premier League game weeks left this season, you get the price of two for one in the penultimate round of fixtures as many teams jostle for their final league positions.

Fantasy managers who still have a chip can use the triple captain or bench boost options to maximise the gains in double game week 37. Therefore, expect sudden movements in your mini-leagues as some managers look to consolidate their top spots while others want to win some late-season bragging rights.

Here at the FootballCastle, you will be able to go through some of the essential moves ahead of the Game week 37 deadline on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 BST.

Goalkeepers

José Sá (£5.0m)

Betway Nigeria

Before the game against relegation-battling Everton, the Portuguese tops the FPL goalkeeper rankings in home matches after earning 106 points in 18 appearances.

Sa should return to the starting lineup for potential returns after getting a rare rest in GW36.

Alisson (£5.4m)

The top-scoring FPL goalkeeper this season is coming off the back of three successive clean sheets as in-form Liverpool face Aston Villa and Southampton in their final two games.

Alisson could well secure two more clean sheets in the 2022/23 campaign.

David de Gea (5.1m)

Following a run of five clean sheets in the last eight games, Manchester United’s defensive assets are decent options going into DGW37 against Bournemouth and Chelsea.

De Gea’s 16 clean sheets are unmatched this season and he has the potential to add to those shutouts.

Defenders

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.7m)

The flying full-back/midfielder is an FPL essential in his best form this season while Liverpool have been defensively solid of late. Alexander-Arnold has registered a goal, six assists and three clean sheets in his last eight appearances as Aston Villa represent this season’s final visitors to Anfield.

Luke Shaw (£5.2m)

Given United have kept five clean sheets in the last eight fixtures, Shaw is the most-bought defender in GW37. Indeed, Raphael Varane’s return from injury pushed Shaw back to his natural left-back role which raises his attacking prospects.

Make no mistake about it, the full-back will be looking to get many returns in the remaining meaningful games of the Red Devils’ top-four ambitions.

Pervis Estupiñán (£4.9m)

A season-high 17 points were earned following his goal, assist and clean sheet against Arsenal in DGW36. Although Brighton are capable of either a big win or a horrible thrashing in recent games, relegated Southampton and a potentially under-strength City both visit in another double game week for Estupiñán.

Midfielders

Ilkay Gundogan

Ilkay Gündogan (£7.4m)

The German is becoming something of a legend at hitting form at the perfect time after back-to-back braces against Everton and Leeds for 32 points. The four goals and one assist in two games make Gündogan the most-bought player ahead of DGW37 while he yet remains in just 6.6% of squads.

Mohamed Salah (LIV) £13.1m

Three double-digit hauls in a row and three goals with as many assists in the last four games make the Egyptian the best captaincy option for his single GW37 fixture against Aston Villa.

Salah is set to surely earn more points before this season ends.

Riyad Mahrez (£7.4m)

Mahrez missed both legs of the UEFA Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid and he should get plenty of minutes in DGW37 after starting the last four league matches.

The Algerian has produced five assists for 27 points in that time but he is still owned by just 7.2% of managers, you can expect his good form to continue as City near the finish line on three fronts.

Forwards

Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland (£12.4m)

The best player in this season’s Fantasy Premier League is a sure-fire captaincy option as Pep Guardiola’s men aim to wrap up the title should they beat Chelsea or Arsenal drop points.

Despite the likelihood of his manager’s strict rotation policy, Haaland is targeting the 40-goal mark while he is currently 37 FPL points behind Mo Salah’s record for the most points in a season with 303 in the 2017-18 season.

Callum Wilson (£7.2m)

The top-ranked performer of DGW36 rocked up with 24 points after his three goals and one assist against both Leeds and Brighton. Wilson is a hot pick for the season’s run-in after 11 goals and two assists in the last ten Premier League games to put Newcastle on the brink of Champions League qualification.

Out-of-sorts Leicester and Chelsea are the remaining opponents for Wilson and their leaky defences will not be glad to face one of the league’s most potent strikers.
