The penultimate weekend of the Premier League season beckons and there is one final Fantasy Premier League double game week to navigate. Managers still in possession of a Free Hit chip will want to use it in game week 37 as five clubs are scheduled to play twice.
Each of Aston Villa, Leicester, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Everton have two matches and with it a big opportunity to make up significant ground in the mini-league. Not to forget some teams with a single game that still have it all to play for this season.
With that in mind, FootballCastle provides some of the best gems and popular assets set to deliver in double game week 37. This weekend has a latter-than-usual start with the deadline set for 10:30 BST on Sunday 15 May 2022.
Goalkeepers
Jordan Pickford (£4.8 million)
England’s number one has been inspired in recent games as he made 29 saves in his last seven appearances for relegation-threatened Everton.
Only Alisson (15) and Aaron Ramsdale (14) have recorded more bonus points than Pickford (12) in his position and he should haul against Brentford and Crystal Palace at home in DGW37 where he had four of the five shutouts under Frank Lampard.
Defenders
Joao Cancelo (£7.2m)
Only Mo Salah has accumulated more FPL points away from home than the Manchester City man who will be looking to win another Premier League title race. Cancelo is one of the few defenders available for City thus his starting place is set in stone.
Matty Cash (£5.3 million)
The Villa full-back is a very durable option having started each Premier League game this season, coming through with three goals and three assists.
Cash possesses an incredible potential for returns at both ends in DGW37 as opponents Burnley are second-lowest for away goals scored while Palace have found the net only 10 times in 12 away matches against sides away from the bottom six.
Lucas Digne (£5.0 million)
Steven Gerrard’s opposite full-back returned from injury and followed up a clean sheet against Norwich with an assist at Burnley over the last three games to give him a late-season points boost.
The set-piece-taking Frenchman is responsible for a team-high nine chances across that run of games, his attacking menace is supplemented by a massive clean sheet potential. Digne could become an inspired go-to option for managers in DGW37.
Oleksandr Zinchenko (£5.3m)
The Ukrainian offers a cheap route into a City backline suffering a raft of absences. Although the single fixture is a tricky away match at West Ham, Pep Guardiola’s title-chasing defence is statistically the best in the league.
Midfielders
Anthony Gordon (£4.7m)
The young winger’s stock has risen high in recent weeks as he became a sure starter who is vital to the Toffees’ relegation fight. The bargain-priced Gordon will look to add to his four goals and three assists in the crucial pair of home fixtures against Brentford and Crystal Palace.
Bukayo Saka (£6.7m)
The Arsenal attacker ranks fourth for goal attempts since Gameweek 18 when only Salah has had more touches in the opposition penalty area. Saka also has an attacking return from each of his three previous meetings with Newcastle and with the race for top four on the line, he will be looking to contribute a few more returns this season.
Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m)
The brilliant Belgian scored a remarkable four goals against Wolves and has now combined eight goals with five assists in his previous eight appearances, only blanking once.
Man City’s sole priority is the Premier League title and De Bruyne will be at the centre of their hopes in a tough assignment against West Ham.
Son Heung-min (£11.0 million)
Tottenham have a couple of appealing fixtures to end their season as they hunt a coveted return to the UEFA Champions League. Son’s derby strike made it ten goals and three assists from his last eight appearances and his season’s total is now one behind Mohamed Salah in the Golden Boot race.
Tottenham face Burnley and relegated Norwich in the final two games and Son is sure to haul some big points still.
Wilfried Zaha (£6.9 million)
The Ivorian has scored seven times in his previous ten appearances and is performing somewhat under the radar. Additionally, Zaha’s last seven away outings have seen him score six times and it makes trips to Aston Villa and Everton eye-catching for the penalty-taking 29-year-old.
Already enjoying his best goal-scoring season, Zaha needs 15 points from the final three matches to make this his best FPL campaign.
Mohamed Salah (£13.3 million)
The league’s top scorer, FPL top scorer and leader of many attacking statistics has seven goals and three assists from nine previous meetings against Southampton. Regardless of the final result of the FA Cup Final, Salah will be keen to face a vulnerable saints side with Son only a goal behind in the Golden Boot race.
Forwards
Danny Ings (£7.7m)
The striker has scored in two of his last three games while providing another assist. Across his last four games, Ings has taken 13 shots and will be looking forward to Aston Villa’s two home games against Crystal Palace and Burnley.
Richarlison (£7.6 million)
The Brazilian is Everton’s in-form player with four goals and two assists over the last six game weeks. Richarlison has had more shots on goal than any other player in this time, as well as being on penalty duty for Frank Lampard’s side.
Harry Kane (£12.4m)
The England captain has massively improved since Antonio Conte took over at Tottenham and is now top among FPL forwards for attacking returns, FPL points to shots, chances created and expected goal involvement (xGI). Fresh off increasing his undisputed scoring record in North London derbies, Kane is an attractive proposition against Burnley who will be potentially without their first-choice centre-back pairing.
Jamie Vardy (£10.3m)
Leicester’s ageless marksman hit a brace in the 3-0 win over Norwich and presents an intriguing differential option after recording an impressive seven shots in the box and three big chances. Vardy’s first league start in two months after a knee injury means many FPL managers will be willing to take a gamble given the do-or-die frenzy for late-season points.
He may not be in action for the entire duration but could haul against Watford and Chelsea in Double Gameweek 37.
