Another Fantasy Premier League weekend resumes for a full game week and the chance to put together a memorable points tally. Double Gameweek 26 features Arsenal, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Leeds, Liverpool, Tottenham, Watford and Wolves all taking in double fixtures for a very significant moment in the season.
Ahead of the biggest double game week of the campaign, FootballCastle provides some of the most reliable assets you should keep faith in or look to bring into your squad.
With that in mind, many managers have indulged in their Free Hit, Wildcard or Triple Captain chips and it would be unwise to not consider a sensational effort to maximize the points frenzy available.
The deadline for Gameweek 26 is at 11:00 GMT on Saturday 19 February.
Goalkeepers
Nick Pope (£5.4m)
Burney are the only side set to play twice in the next two rounds of matches and their custodian looks a shoo-in for observing managers.
The underperforming Clarets face Brighton and Tottenham in GW 26, then Crystal Palace and Leicester in GW 27, and Pope is well-placed having recorded four of five clean sheets this season in his last seven games. The Englishman has conceded only three times in that period and is showing reliable consistency to earn your trust.
Aaron Ramsdale (£5.1m)
The Arsenal man is a popular DGW pick after registering 11 clean sheets this season. Ramsdale has clean sheets in three of the last four games and is the highest-scoring keeper for points per game this season with 5.3 points.
The shot-stopper is already the most-bought goalkeeper ahead of GW 26 and my advice is you join that party too.
Defenders
Ben White (£4.5m)
Staying with Arsenal’s nice Double Gameweek fixtures, a double up on their defence with White would be a shrewd move. The Gunners may have struggled for goals in 2022, but they remain defensively solid with five clean sheets in their last seven league games.
Hence, that backline has every chance of staying unbreached in a duo of home fixtures against Brentford and Wolves.
Roman Saiss (£5.0m)
Wolves have maintained a good defence this season that has conceded just 17 goals, a record bettered by only Manchester City. Amidst that glowing record is Saiss who has scored twice this season and offers a big set-piece threat that could punish Leicester’s vulnerability from dead-ball situations.
Trent Alexander-Arnold(£8.5m)
The right-back has registered the most Premier League assists (10) this season and comes up against two of the poorest defences in the league in Norwich and Leeds.
Alexander-Arnold’s immense creativity is such that he is second to Bruno Fernandes for chances created. Having delivered 66 points in his last ten matches, including three assists and a goal, the Liverpool man is a superb differential captain.
Midfielders
Mohamed Salah (£13.0m)
Where better to start our midfield selection than the Almighty Egyptian King? Although he has been for pretty much every single GW he has been available for, Salah is the main focus in GW 26 for two mouthwatering Anfield fixtures against Norwich and Leeds.
The Liverpool marksman is well worth the Triple Captain chip as the games against such poor defences look tailor-made for Salah to grab the headlines. He scored his first post-AFCON goal against Inter Milan in the Champions League and could thus become the most triple-captained player in a game week in FPL history.
Jarrod Bowen (£7.0m)
The excellent form of the West Ham man means he has become a must-have for managers as they face Newcastle. Bowen has totalled 54 points in 2022, 13 more than any other player, and he has now recorded a fourth double-digit score in his last seven games.
The winger is well on course to be Newcastle’s chief tormentor having provided a goal contribution in each of his last five home games.
Son Heung-min (£10.7m)
The South Korean has been Tottenham’s best FPL performer since Antonio Conte was appointed in GW 11 and has blanked in only one of his last eight matches.
Having scored five times and supplied three assists in that time, Son approaches DGW 26 in a very rich vein of form. Additionally, the attacker has netted in three of his last four meetings with Man City and returned double-figures in his last three games against Burnley.
Forwards
Raul Jimenez (£7.4m)
The well-taken goal against Tottenham made it two goals in three games for the Mexican who is Wolves’ main goal threat as he leads the team for shots in the box, shots on target, big chances, touches in the box and expected goals (xG).
Game week 26 presents a shaky Leicester who have kept only three clean sheets all season, followed by Arsenal. If Wolves do get anything out of these games, there is no doubt Jimenez would have made a mark in the attack.
