Brazilian superstar Neymar has expressed his desire to one day play alongside Juventus marksman Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward, who recently committed to a new contract until 2025, has already played with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé. And it seems Neymar wants to complete a set of the greatest players in the world by playing on the same team as Ronaldo.
‘I want to play with Cristiano Ronaldo,’ Neymar told GQ France. ‘I’ve already played with great players like Messi and Mbappe, but I haven’t played with Cristiano Ronaldo yet.’
Time is of the essence if the 36-year-old Portugal legend is to become Neymar’s teammate but PSG could be a potential destination if he decides to depart Juventus after three seasons in Italy.
The Old Lady have surrendered their nine-year Serie A dominance to Inter Milan this season and are struggling to qualify for the Champions League.
Hence, the dream to see Ronaldo and Neymar play together could happen if the Portuguese cuts ties with the Turin side should they fail to make Europe’s top competition, with PSG mooted as a possible destination.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Neymar says the World Cup is the one trophy in football he wants above all others.
‘I want to win the World Cup,’ he said. ‘This has always been my biggest dream, but I also want to win everything with PSG.
‘I’m almost 30 now and I’ve had a good career on a personal level.’
PSG could yet finish the 2020/21 season without silverware, however. As they trail league leaders Lille by three points with two games to go in Ligue 1, having lost out to Manchester City in last week’s Champions League semi-finals.
