An emotional Lionel Messi confirms he did not want to leave Barcelona on a tearful occasion as he received a standing ovation in his final Barcelona press conference, after 21 years with the club. 

The Argentina superstar repeatedly stressed he wanted to stay at Barcelona and was set to sign a new contract. 

When asked about a move to PSG, Messi said: “That is one possibility, to reach those heights. “I’ve got nothing confirmed with anybody. I had a lot of calls, a lot of interested clubs. At the moment, nothing is closed, but we are talking about a lot of things.”

The French champions are reportedly offering a two-year contract worth £25m per year.

Chelsea have agreed a club-record €115m deal with Inter Milan for the return of Romelu Lukaku on a five-year contract for €12m + add ons. The Belgian will complete a medical tomorrow to bolster the attacking ranks available to Thomas Tuchel.

Having faced failure in their moves for Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri and Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas, Napoli have made an offer to sign Lille defender Reinildo.
